Whole Key Lime Pie

Key lime pie gets its name from the famous citrus region--the Florida Keys. We start out by making a graham cracker crust from graham cracker crumbs, sugar and margarine. Next we fill it with a rich homemade lime filling and bake. After cooling, we add a fresh real whipped cream topping, and it's ready to go. The end result is best described by tasting, but is similar in consistency to a lemon chiffon pie only made with limes and topped with real whipped cream. This dessert is light and fluffy, a perfect combination with BBQ. * A bite of culture: The traditional Florida Key Lime Pie is made from real Key limes. This variety of lime yields a pie with inherent bitterness. Johnny Rebs' has chosen instead to make our pie from less bitter limes.
